Director, Regulatory Policy
Joe joined NiSource’s legal department in 2015, serving first as a senior counsel and then as an assistant general counsel. Joe primarily represented Columbia Gas of Ohio at the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio and Columbia Gas of Kentucky at the Kentucky Public Service Commission. Joe transitioned in April 2024 to become the director of Regulatory Policy for Columbia Gas of Ohio.
Prior to joining NiSource, Joe worked in-house for two competitive retail commodity suppliers and worked at a law firm in Columbus where he primarily represented Ohio large industrial customers on electric matters. Joe also worked in the Ohio legislature prior to attending law school.
Joe is currently the vice chair of the Board of the Worthington Resource Pantry and also serves as the treasurer of the Thomas Worthington High School Baseball Diamond Club.
A native of Junction City, Ohio, in Perry County, Joe earned his bachelor’s degree in international affairs from Muskingum University and his juris doctor from the Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University. Joe, his wife Melissa, and their two sons reside in Worthington, Ohio.
